Mysuru: Mysuru Superintendent of Police Ravi D.Channannavar has suspended three Police Constables for their alleged involvement in illegal sale of rice meant for Anna Bhagya Scheme. They are Manjunath, Harish Kumar and Jahur Ahmed, attached to Mysuru South Police Station.

Their role came to light after Food and Civil Supplies Department and Mysuru South Police jointly conducted a raid on four shops at the APMC Yard. Following the raid, the Police arrested owners of two shops for the illegal business and seized 312 bags, each weighting 25 kg of rice.

According to the Police, the accused used to procure rice from Mandya and Mysuru districts to sell it in Kerala. The suspended constables were aware of the illegal trade and were receiving bribe from the shop owners to cover up the crime.
