Incense sticks manufacturing unit gutted

Nanjangud: An incense sticks manufacturing unit, located behind Urdu School on Bazar Street was completely gutted in an accidental fire yesterday morning.

The manufacturing unit belonged to Rafiq, a resident of the town and machineries used for manufacturing incense sticks, raw materials and other items have been gutted in the fire. The fire also spread to the nearby godown, destroying various items.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who rushed to the spot, extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading further.

The loss is estimated to be over Rs. 20 lakh.

Tahsildar Shivakumar Kasnur, Dy.SP Raghu, Municipal Commissioner Nanjundaswamy, Councillor Gayathri, Khaleed and others visited the spot and collected information.

A case has been registered at Nanjangud City Police Station.
