Incomplete info: Information Commission imposes Rs. 28,000 fine on Tahsildar

Mysuru: Nanjangud Tahsildar M. Dayanand, who had provided incomplete information to applications under Right To Information (RTI) Act, has been fined Rs. 7,000 each in four cases by Information Commission Commissioner S.L. Patil, who has issued an order in this regard.

One B.S. Vishwanath, a resident of Basavanagudi in Bengaluru had submitted four applications seeking information under RTI Act to the then Srirangapatna Tahsildar Dayanand on various dates in 2016.

But Tahsildar Dayanand, who was also the Public Relations Officer, not only delayed in providing information but also provided incomplete information for the four applications.

In this backdrop, Information Commission Commissioner S.L. Patil issued an order imposing a total fine of Rs. 28,000 on Tahsildar Dayanand to be deducted in his (Tahsildar) salary.
