Indian Oil Dealers meet Union Ministers

September 1, 2025

Mysuru: With  the relocation of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Depot in city looming large, a delegation of the representatives of Mysuru-Chamarajanagar District Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) dealers met Union Minister for Petroleum Hardeep Singh Puri and Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy in New Delhi recently and submitted a memorandum seeking fulfilment of their demands, which chiefly included dropping of the plan to shift the IOC depot in Mysuru to another location.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Wadiyar and Kolar MP M. Mallesh Babu led the delegation to the two Union Ministers.

The delegation comprised Mysuru-Chamarajanagar Petrol Bunk owners H.K. Ramesh, Ranjit Hegde, K.S. Ravishankar, Bhaskar, Jayaram, Akash Shiva, B.G. Shivakumar and others.

In a social media post, MP Yaduveer said that the Union Minister of Petroleum should shelve the plans of shifting the Mysuru IOC depot which has been functioning well for the past several decades, to Devanagonthi near Bengaluru.

Maintaining that the Mysuru depot has been catering to the fuel supply needs of several districts of Southern Karnataka, he said that the Union Ministry should take note of the adverse effects and the severe logistical inconvenience that would be caused by the shifting of the Mysuru depot and drop the relocation plans.

The Ministry has been urged to retain the IOC Depot in Mysuru itself, according to the memorandum submitted to the two Union Ministers, the MP said.
