Ink attack on Prof. Bhagawan’s face in Bengaluru; DSS holds protest in city

February 5, 2021

Mysuru/Bengaluru: Members of Dalit Sangarsha Samiti (DSS) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) jointly staged a protest in city this morning against splashing ink by an advocate on Prof. K.S. Bhagawan, a noted social thinker at the Court complex in Bengaluru yesterday.

The protest was led by DSS District Committee President Choranahalli Shivanna and SDPI District President Abdul Majid and City President Amjad Khan. They said that lady advocate Meera Raghavendra, who threw black ink on Prof. Bhagawan, should be blacklisted as per orders of the Supreme Court, expelled from the Bar Council and be arrested for attacking him in Court premises.

On Thursday, advocate Meera threw ink on the face of Prof.  Bhagawan for issuing anti-Hindu statements. This incident occurred in Magistrate Court premises at around 1 pm. The black ink was splashed on his face while he was coming out after attending Court in connection with a case. The advocate was learnt to have told that she was ready to face any action for her act. It was a shame on his part to talk ill about Hindu Gods and Goddesses, she added.

Later, Prof Bhagawan filed a case against Meera Raghavendra at Halasur Police Station.

Yesterday evening, activists of Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike, condemning the incident staged a protest in front of City Law Courts Complex.

Littérateur Prof. Aravind Malagatti, Prof. Mahesh Chandraguru, Prof. P.V. Nanjaraja Urs, former Mayor Purushotham and others took part in the protest.
