Inspector C.V. Ravi posted to Banashankari PS

February 2, 2019

Mysuru: Two days after he was directed to report at the DG&IGP’s office at Bengaluru, previous V.V. Puram Traffic Police Inspector C.V. Ravi has been posted as Inspector at Banashankari Police Station (PS) in Bengaluru.

C.V. Ravi, who was serving as V.V. Puram Traffic Police inspector in the city, was transferred on Jan.14 as the CPI of Mysuru South Police Station which has jurisdiction over politically sensitive Chamundeshwari and Varuna Assembly Constituencies.

Following his transfer, Ravi sought permission of Mysuru SP Amit Singh to report for duty on Jan.15 as Mysuru South Police CPI, when the SP allegedly hurled expletives and abuses at him, the audio clip of which went viral on social media. The SP had allegedly chastised Ravi for reportedly bringing political pressure on him (SP) to allow (C.V. Ravi) to report for duty.

Later, Ravi wrote to IGP (Southern Range) K.V. Sharath Chandra on Jan.24, seeking action against the SP for abusing him and his family and even sought permission to lodge a complaint with the Human                                   Rights Commission.

After this episode, the Police Department on Jan.29 cancelled its Jan.14 transfer order posting C.V. Ravi as Mysuru South CPI and in a fresh order posted him to Coastal Security Police (CSP) wing at Udupi.

But just a day after, on Jan.30, DG&IGP Neelamani N. Raju issued another order cancelling Ravi’s posting at CSP, Udupi and asked him to report at DG&IGP’s office at Bengaluru for a fresh posting. Now, two days later, the Police Department on Friday evening issued an order appointing C.V. Ravi as Inspector at Banashankari Police Station, Bengaluru. C.V. Ravi was among the six Police Inspectors who were issued posting orders last evening, it is learnt.
