It has been noticed with concern that there is a lot of uncontrolled vehicular movement at the junction of a Hotel located on Akkamahadevi Road in JP Nagar.

It is proving to be very difficult for pedestrians, especially the elderly, senior citizens, ladies and children residing in the area, to cross the road at this junction what with vehicles whizzing past in all four directions without a thought being shown by some rash drivers towards the lives and safety of pedestrians.

Quite a few accidents have taken place at this junction, resulting in injuries to pedestrians and damage to vehicles. But no action has been taken till date in spite of several repeated letters under this column.

Hence, I earnestly appeal to the traffic authorities concerned to take necessary steps to install traffic signal lights, along with those for pedestrian crossings too, at the said junction, at the earliest and prevent any further mishaps from taking place.
