JD(S) stages protest against CAA

Mysuru: Even as protests continue across the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens(NRC), the JD(S) jumped into the bandwagon by staging a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here this morning.

Raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi,Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Union Government, MLA S.R. Mahesh who addressed the JD(S) workers, alleged that the Central Government was out to curtail the rights of the people by introducing CAA and NRC. Terming the Centre’s move as unconstitutional, he said that the JD(S) will strongly oppose the implementation of the CAA and NRC.

Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmed, Corporators Prema Shankaregowda, Reshma Banu, Namrata Ramesh, Dawood Khan and Rafiq Ahmed, ZP member Madegowda, leaders K.V. Mallesh, Narasimhaswamy, R. Muthuraj, Abdullah, R. Lingappa and others were present.
