Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, will be presenting a Karnatak Classical Vocal Concert by Vid. G.K. Manamohan on Oct. 31 at 6 pm at Sri Rama Mandir in Jayanagar, Mysuru.
Vid. G.K. Manamohan will be accompanied on violin by Vid. Venkatesh Josyer (disciple of Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy), on mridanga by Vid. S. Kumaraswamy (disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi T.V. Gopalakrishnan) and on ghata by Vid. M.R. Manjunath, disciple of Asthana Vidwan Rajappa and Vid. Tumkur Bhadrachar.
Artiste’s Profile: G.K. Manamohan started learning music under Vidu. H.N. Rajalakshmi and pursued further under Vidushis Vasanta Sundararajan and Pushpa Srinivasan. He started giving public concerts since the age of 13 and has performed in many prestigious Sabhas in Karnataka and in the US and has won the hearts of music aficionados with his unique style. He has won the first prize at National-level AIR Competition in 2002 and was featured in AIR Mysuru on numerous occasions.
After serving the University of California, Los Angeles, he has taken up the cause of music and involved in spreading classical music among the younger generation.
