Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, will be presenting Karnatak classical compositions of senior musician, musicologist and composer, Prof. R. Visweswaran on Saturdays at 5 pm under the series ‘Karnataka Vaggeya Vahini’, on the Sabha’s YouTube channel, commencing from June 19.
The compositions of Prof. Visweswaran are known for the fine embodiment of the highest values of Vaggeyatva and have been appreciated by scholars like Veena Balachander, R.K. Srikantan, S. Krishnamurthy. His compositions are more than 150 and his book ‘Vaggeya Visweswari’ contains 112 of them. The episodes will have teaching sessions by Prof. Visweswaran, followed by rendition of krithis by the disciples with accompaniments, which will be of great help to music students to learn the fine compositions.
