Mysore/Mysuru: In a first, the upcoming Dasara Wrestling Tournament will witness young boys and girls showcasing their wrestling skills at D. Devaraja Urs Multipurpose Stadium, located in Doddakere Maidan, the venue for wrestling tournament.

The organisers, in an effort to encourage young boys and girls to take up wrestling as a sports of their interest, will be conducting wrestling tournament for U-15 boys and U-17 girls. The Dasara Wrestling Sub Committee has also announced various title including ‘Dasara Bala Kanteerava’, ‘Dasara Bala Kesari’, ‘Dasara Bala Kishora’, ‘Dasara Bala Kishori’, ‘Mysuru Dasara Bala Kumara’ and ‘Mysuru Dasara Bala Kumari’ along with the regular titles for both men and  women wrestlers.

The wrestling tournament will be conducted as per the rules of Wrestling Federation of India, United World Wrestling rules. Boys must have not crossed 15 years of age and girls must have not cross 17 years as on Dec. 31, 2025 to take part in the tournament.

For U-15 Boys who are within the weight limit of 38 kgs, 44 kgs and 48 kg will compete for Mysuru Dasara Bala Kishora title and those within the weight limit between 52 kg and 57 kg and 62 kg will vie for Mysuru Dasara Bala Kumara title. For U-17 boys, those within 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg and 71 kg will compete for ‘Mysuru Dasara Bala Kesari’ title and those within 80 kg and 92 kg category will vie for ‘Mysuru Dasara Bala Kanteerava’ title.

For U-15 girls, wrestlers within the weight limits of 39 kg, 46 kg, 50 kg, 58 kg and 62 kg will compete for ‘Mysuru Dasara Bala Kishori’ title and in the U-17 girls category those within the age group of 49 kg, 53 kg, 57 kg, 61 kg and 67 kg will compete for ‘Mysuru Dasara  Bala Kumari’ title.

Cash Reward for wrestling tournament

The Dasara Wrestling Sub-Committee has announced cash rewards and prizes for both men and women. For Dasara Kanteerava (above 86 kg) the winner will walk away with cash price of Rs. 15,000 and 1 kg silver mace, Rs. 12,500 for second place and Rs. 10,500 third place and Rs. 10,000 for second third place.  For Dasara Kesari (74 kg to 86 kg) Rs. 12,500 cash prize along with 1 kg silver mace, Dasara Kishora (57 kg to 65 kg) Rs. 10,000 cash prize along with 1/2kg silver mace, Dasara Kishori (57 kg to 76 kg) Rs. 10,000 cash prize along with 1/2kg silver mace, Dasara Kumara (86 kg and above) Rs. 10,000 cash prize with 3/4 kg silver mace.
