Kodava Language and Literate Day on Sept. 21

Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, Rangabhoomi Trust, Kodagu and Natana Rangashaale, Mysuru, will jointly celebrate Kodava Language and Literate Day, 151st birth anniversary of Haradasa Appachakavi on Sept. 21 at 5 pm. The event will be held at Natana in Ramakrishnanagar. Nellamakkada B. Kaverappa, Director, Bharani Art Gallery, Mysuru, will deliver a guest lecture on the occasion. Literary and Cultural Thinker Dr. Adengada A. Kuttappa will release a book which will be followed by Presidential address by theatre artiste and Natana Director Mandya Ramesh. Theatre artiste A.K. Anitha and Sahitya Akademi Member Addanda Cariappa will also speak. Odiyanda Ganesh and Kattera A. Nanaiah will be present on the occasion. Later, the Kodava play ‘Baduk’ will be staged at 6.30 pm. Staging of Choracharanadasa: On the next day (Sept.22), Natana artistes will stage the play ‘Choracharanadasa’ written by playwright Habeeb Tanvir and directed by Mandya Ramesh at 6.30 pm at Natana.
