Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 and Alanahalli Survey No. 41

July 5, 2017

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep has said that a decision on the controversy-ridden Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 and Alanahalli Survey No. 41 is likely to be taken at a meeting being called by the Revenue Secretary within a week.

The Regional Commissioner has already submitted a report with regard to the land and property dispute on these areas. Added to this, information has also been given on a few writ petitions filed. Hence, there is likelihood of a meeting being called shortly, he told Star of Mysore.

The Government had declared Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 and Alanahalli Survey No. 41 as “B Kharab” (Government Land). However, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) had developed layouts in Siddarthanagar, K.C. Nagar, Vidyanagar and other layouts in surrounding areas and the residents here are facing untold miseries because of this unscientific classification.

This decision has resulted in non-issuance of khatas, title deeds, building plans, completion certificates thus legally preventing them from selling their properties, mortgaging them to raise loans or to partition properties to meet their commitments.

The affected residents have protested several times demanding a solution to their problems. Even the local MLA M.K. Somashekar had assured the residents in March this year to resolve the issue. As a result, it looks like the government will be responding to the problems of the people. Hence, after the meeting, the decision will be placed before the Cabinet and the problem  will likely be solved.
