Leopard kills calf near Nanjangud

June 17, 2020

Nanjangud: A calf was killed when a leopard raided a cow shed at Rampura village in the taluk on Monday.

The calf belonged to one Manjunath, a resident of Hullahalli and he had tied the calf in the shed at his farm in Rampura village. The leopard, which entered the shed in the wee hours of Monday, killed the calf.

Manjunath, who was staying at the farm, woke up on hearing sounds made by cows and burst crackers which made the leopard flee from the spot. But the leopard had already killed the calf.

Deputy Range Forest Officer (DRFO) Sharath Kumar and staff, who visited the farm, conducted an inspection and instructed the staff to place a cage to trap the leopard.
