Mandya: A Leopard, which had entered into the shed of a house in search of a prey at Manchanahalli in Malavalli taluk of Mandya district, was trapped by villagers late night on Thursday.

Villagers, who noticed the wild cat entering the house shed of one Srinivas, a Gram Panchayat Member, immediately locked the doors of the house, thus trapping the leopard. Forest Department officials, who rushed to the spot, caught the leopard, which is said to be two-year-old and later let it off into the forest, it is learnt.
