Let’s not mess-up with Brindavan Gardens

August 1, 2018

Sir,

Apropos the news item titled ‘Creator of Brindavan Gardens, a German Horticulturist G.H. Krumbiegel’s great granddaughter opposes Disneyland plan’ (Star of Mysore dated July 29).

Hope our Chief Minister shelves the Disneyland project after going through one of the architects of the Gardens, G.H. Krumbiegal’s granddaughter’s open letter to him.

SOM Editor-in-Chief K.B. Ganapathy’s sharp comments in Abracadabra should also be useful in taking a decision. I had also opposed this ill-conceived project (Star of Mysore dated July 7).

Can we ask the Tourism Minister to take back Rs. 5 crore sanctioned immediately and halt the Project Report? Let’s not mess-up with the serene, aesthetic and endearing Brindavan Gardens!
