Bengaluru: The Cabinet meeting, which was scheduled to take place this evening in the State capital, has been postponed. However, no reasons have been assigned for the postponement. The meeting was expected to chiefly discuss the separate Lingayat religion tag amidst mounting pressure from Seers backing the tag.
But CM Siddharamaiah, not preferring to discuss the issue right now in the wake of forthcoming Assembly polls, is said to have deferred the meeting to buy time for deliberating on the contentious issue.
