Literary Club inaugurated at Daksha College

April 21, 2025

Mysuru: Daksha College, Hootagalli Industrial Area, Mysuru, inaugurated its Literary Club as a vibrant platform, aiming to cultivate a passion for reading and creative writing among students and the launch of a state-of-the-art Library Management System — both initiatives aimed at nurturing the creativity, critical thinking and reading habits of its students.

The event was graced by Stanley Carvalho, a retired Reuters correspondent and renowned independent journalist writing for Deccan Herald and The Hindu in Bengaluru.

Addressing the students, he emphasised the transformative power of literature and encouraged students to embrace diverse perspectives. His experiences in the world of reporting and writing inspired students to view literature not only as an academic subject but also as a tool to shape opinions, drive social change and explore the intricacies of human thought.

Aligned with its mission of nurturing holistic development, Daksha College has introduced initiatives designed to empower students in the digital and literary realms as Library Management System developed by the College’s degree students, this innovative system will streamline access to the college library’s resources and facilitate a smoother digital transition. As part of the event, students and staff collectively donated books to enrich the college library’s collection.

Reflecting on the significance of this milestone, Chairman P. Jayachandra Raju remarked: “At Daksha College, nurturing the intellectual and creative spirit of our students is at the very heart of what we do. This event is a testament to our resolve to equip our students with the knowledge, technology and literary resources they need to thrive in a dynamic world.”
