Mysore/Mysuru: M.V. Srinivasa was re-elected as the President of the city’s prestigious The Cosmopolitan Club in the election held here on Sunday.
M.V. Srinivasa defeated his lone rival C. Narayanagowda, President of Mysuru Hotel Owners Association, by a margin of 55 votes. Srinivasa secured 371 votes while Narayanagowda could manage to bag 316 votes.
The other office-bearers elected are: M. Ambarisha as Vice-President (unopposed); G. Sanjay (342 votes) as Hon. Secretary, who defeated his nearest rival U.M. Gurshanthappa (326 votes); B.N. Sheshadri (426 votes) as Honorary Treasurer, who defeated his lone rival C. Mohan Kumar (261 votes).
Also, the following were elected as Committee Members: Aravind Nadig (503 votes), M.N. Ghanavantha (419), M. Rajeev (416), H.S. Deepak (415), K. Mahesh (407), L. Krishna (356) and R. Yeshwanth Kumar (333).
Nine others who had contested — S. Sandeep (317), N. Nagendra (303), M.J. Pradeep Kumar (298), Jayakumar Gurupad (289), R. Mukundan (255), M.B. Jayadev (242), H. Rajendra Kumar (88), R. Venkatesh (86) and Kaushik S. Anand (82) — lost the election.
The Club Member K.N. Suresh Kumar was the Returning Officer.
