Sir,
I am a frequent morning walker in the good old Cheluvamba Park since a few years. The walkers are mainly elder and super elder citizens, some well past 80 years. The park which has been in existence for a long period needs some more upkeep. The following are the issues to be addressed:
a) Inside the park, paths on the southern and western side are full of stones jetting out of the surface and many people have tripped and fallen.
b) There is a need for a wicket gate adjacent to the big decorative but non-functioning gate towards Yadavagiri Circle. This big gate is kept locked always and cannot be used for any vehicle to pass as it is above the level of paved footpath.
c) Dried up branches of trees need to be chopped.
d) The ever unsolved dog menace — I see the sentry going round the park on his bicycle chasing them away but they happily loiter in and out as some animal lovers feed them.
e) There is a small stretch of paved footpath on the Yadavagiri side where rain water doesn’t get seeped into the earth as seen in the picture. The tiles need to be relaid here.
I request the authorities to take necessary measures to make the park more senior citizen friendly.
