Gonikoppa: Aadya R.A. Singh, a student of Coorg Public School, Gonikoppa, Kodagu, is carving a name for herself in the growing sport of surfing in India. She is training under the guidance of the Surfing Swami Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to developing ocean-based sports across the country.
Her training is based at Mantra Surf Club in Mangaluru, India’s first surf club and a hub for budding surfers.
Aadya has taken part in the Indian Open Surfing (2024), Mangaluru and had reached the semifinals in the Under-16 Girls category. Even in summer vacation, Aadya was found gliding across the waves participating in the International Surfing Festival in Varkala, Kerala in April 2025 and competed in the Open Women’s Division.

In May 2025, Aadya was a part of the Tipi Jabrik’s Grom Patrol India, Mangaluru where she bagged second position in both Under-16 and Under-18 Girls category.
She has now reached the Semifinals in Open Women’s Division after winning second place in Under-16 Category at the Indian Open Surfing – Mangaluru Region.
