Man arrested for stealing chilli bags from his owner’s shop

Mysuru:  Mysuru Rural Police, on May 3 have arrested a man on charges of stealing chilli  bags worth Rs. 2 lakh from the shop he was working at Bandipalya APMC Yard and have recovered Rs. 1.5 lakh cash, five bags of chilli worth about Rs. 10,000 from him.

The accused has been identified as Amjad Pasha, resident of Nachanahalli Palya in city.      

Wholesale chilli trader S Gopinath,  who has a shop at Bandipalya had employed accused Amjad at his shop.

Of late, Gopinath came to know that chilli bags were going missing from his shop and in order to find out the reason, he had stored an additional five bags of chilli at his shop which were stolen by Amjad on Apr. 26 following which Gopinath had lodged a complaint. Gopinath in his complaint has stated that nearly Rs. 2 lakh worth chilli bags were stolen by Amjad in five months.

Based on the complaint, Mysuru Rural Police Circle Inspector Mahesh Prasad and staff, following instructions from SP Amith Singh,  ASP P.V. Sneha and Assistant SP Kshma Mishra, arrested Amjad at Nachanahalli Palya and based on the information provided by him, the Police recovered the chilli bags and cash from him.

The accused was produced before a Court, which remanded him to judicial custody.

Mysuru Rural Police staff Jahur Ahmed, Ashok, Bhaskar and  Ningaraju took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
