Mysuru: An unidentified man brutally attacked and assaulted a labourer for refusing to buy him liquor.
The incident took place at Devaraja Mohalla at about 11 pm on Mar. 7 and the injured labourer has been identified as Madhu, a resident of KRS.
Madhu, who was going for construction work at Kailaspuram, was staying at a lodge in Devaraja Mohalla. On Mar. 7 at about 11 pm, when Madhu was sitting on the footpath near the lodge, an unidentified man approached him and told Madhu that he had liquor and asked Madhu to join him.
The unidentified man then poured a little quantity of liquor to Madhu and consumed the rest. As the liquor got over, the unidentified man asked Madhu to buy liquor. When Madhu said that he did not have money for liquor, the unidentified man who got angry, pushed Madhu on the ground and hit his right leg with a big stone.
Madhu screamed with pain attracting passersby and the unidentified man fled from the spot. The public then admitted Madhu to K.R. Hospital and he was later shifted to the Trauma Care Centre on KRS Road.
Devaraja Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
