Man dies after falling from train

An elderly man died after falling from a moving train between Mandya and Maddur section of Mysuru- Bengaluru railway track on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Anthony (65), a resident of Ramakrishnanagar H-Block.

Anthony was travelling to Bengaluru in Mysuru-Mayiladuthurai Train, when he stood at the door of the boggie after using the toilet. He accidentally slipped and fell near Ummadahalli bridge located between Mandya and Maddur and died on the spot.

The incident came to light when one of Anthony’s fellow passengers noticed that he had not returned to his seat for a long time.

The Mandya Railway Police, who visited the spot, informed the matter to Mysuru Railway Police.  The body was shifted to MMC&RI  mortuary.

The Mysuru Railway Police have registered a case in  this regard.
