Mandya: Mandya Deputy Commissioner S. Aswathi visited COVID Care Centres (CCCs) and Hospitals at Pandavapura, K.R. Pet and Nagamangala taluks on Thursday and reviewed the treatment facilities available there.
The DC visited some of the COVID-19 wards and vaccination rooms at hospitals and interacted with the patients. She enquired about the food, medical treatment and other facilities available there. Some patients alleged that doctors were scared to visit the COVID ward as they feared about catching the virus. She directed the doctors and the officials to take proper care of the infected patients and also infuse moral strength in them.
During her inspection at Pandavapura town, the DC observed that most of the hotels were full with no physical distancing and were not following COVID-19 SOPs. Upset over the negligence of the hotel owners and the people towards following the guidelines, Aswathi pulled up Pandavapura TMC Chief Officer (CO) Manjunath and questioned him whether he was aware of the fresh set of guidelines issued by the Government two days ago.
Pandavapura Assistant Commissioner B.C. Shivanandamurthy, Tahsildar Pramod L. Patil, Taluk Health Officer Dr. C.A. Arvind, Pandavapura Hospital Medical Officer Dr. Kumar, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer R.P. Mahesh and other officials were present during the DC’s inspection.
