MCC distributes certificates to Swachhatha contest winners

Mysuru: As part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan-2020, which will be held in January, the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs had issued certain guidelines to be followed. These guidelines were aimed at enhancing cleanliness in city areas and also encourage public participation in Swachata Abhiyan. 

In an effort to encourage public participation and create awareness about cleanliness, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) had organised various competitions in six categories. The winners of these competitions were distributed certificates at a ceremony organised at Old Council Hall of Mysuru City Corporation on Dec. 26. There was competition among hotels, business establishments, Residents Welfare Associations, market associations, hospitals, schools and government offices. Here is the list of winners in different categories from July 2019.

July 2019: Hotel- Southern Star; School- Police Public School; Government office- State Institute of Urban Development; Residents Welfare Association- Federation of Mysuru City Wards Parliament, Kumbarakoppal; Hospital- Narayana Hrudayalaya and Markets- Vani Vilas Market, Agrahara.

September 2019: Hotel- Ginger Hotel on Gopal Gowda Circle; School- St Joseph Central School, Vijayanagar; Government office- Karnataka Police Academy (KPA); Residents Welfare Association- Swachh Brindavan of Brindavan Extension; Hospital- Apollo BGS Hospitals and Markets- Mandi Market at Mandi Mohalla.

December 2019: Hotel- Grand Mercure near Highway Circle; School- Vidyavardhaka School; Government office- Aranya Bhavan; Residents Welfare Association- Kingsdale Resident  Welfare Association of Venkatalingaiah Layout; Hospital – JSS Hospital at Agrahara and Markets- Devaraja Market.
