Mega Job mela on Feb. 23, 24: CM to distribute offer letters at Valedictory

Mysur: In the context of a Mega Job Mela being organised by the Skill Development Corporation, Government of Karnataka on Feb. 23 and 24 at Maharaja’s College Grounds in city, Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep conducted a meeting of Employment Officers of Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Hassan and Mandya district at his office here recently.

Randeep said that the Mega Job Mela would be inaugurated by Minister for Labour Santosh Lad on Feb. 23 at 9 am. He further said that Chief Minister Siddharamaiah would participate in the valedictory function on Feb. 24 and distribute offer letters to candidates selected at the job mela.

The DC said that about 10,000 candidates are expected to attend the job mela with about 300 companies participating in the event to fill up vacant posts.

He asked the employment officers to organise a preparatory camp at the respective district on Feb.18 as a prelude to the job mela to groom the candidates in soft skills to face the interview. Continuing, Randeep said that he would ask KSRTC officials to deploy extra buses to ferry the candidates to the mela from various places. He added that schools in the vicinity of the venue would be asked to accommodate the candidates.

Employment Officers Bharani (Mysuru district), C. Jagannath (Kodagu), P.M. Uma (Chamarajanagar), J.P. Vijayalakshmi (Hassan), K. Shivamurthy (Mandya) and other officials attended the meeting.
