Miscreants blackmail trader to extort Rs. 3.06 lakh

Gonikoppa: Miscreants, who blackmailed a trader, have extorted Rs. 3.06 lakh by getting the money transferred in phases from him.

The trader, who fell prey to blackmailers, is 31-year-old H.K. Harshavardhan, a resident of Gonikoppa.

On June 19 at about 1 pm, Harshavardhan got a message saying ‘Hi’ from mobile number 76268-62066 and at night, he got a video call from a naked woman. Harshavardhan, seeing the naked woman, disconnected the call and later, two persons by name Shruthi Pawar and Vikram Singh called Harshavardhan on his mobile phone and threatened him of sending his video to his family members.

On June 20 between 3.30 am and 7.30 pm, the two got a total of Rs. 3.06 lakh transferred online in phases from Harshavardhan.

A case has been registered at Gonikoppa Police Station in this regard.
