Miscreants rob Rs.10 lakh cash from car, scooter dickey

K.R. Pet: In separate incidents, miscreants have stolen a total of Rs. 10.8 lakh cash at K.R. Pet yesterday.

In the first incident, miscreants have decamped with Rs. 7 lakh cash kept in the car after breaking the glass panes of the car.

Nagaraj, a teacher, had withdrawn Rs. 7 lakh cash from a bank in the town and had kept it in the car. After reaching home, he parked the car in front of his house and was opening the lock of the door, when bike borne miscreants broke the car’s glass panes and made away with the cash bag in a jiffy. Though he followed the bike in his car, the miscreants managed to escape by moving on cross roads.

Nagaraj has lodged a complaint with the Town Police, who have registered a case and are examining CCTV footages of cameras installed at various places.

In the second incident, miscreants have managed to steal Rs. 3.8 lakh cash, which was kept in the dickey of a scooter.

Harish, a resident of Jainahalli in the taluk had withdrawn Rs 3.80 lakh cash from a bank and kept the money in the dickey of his Honda Activa scooter. As Harish had some work at an office, he had parked his scooter and had gone to the office. When he returned after a few minutes, he found the cash stolen. Miscreants had forcibly opened the dickey and had decamped with the cash kept inside.

Harish has lodged a complaint with K.R. Pet Town Police, who have registered a case and have launched a hunt to nab the miscreants.
