Mysore/Mysuru: As part of the Monthly Moonlight Music Programme, Digital Jugalbandi between Vid. Anil Srinivasan (Piano) and Pt. Pravin Godkhindi (Flute) has been organised at Suttur Mutt at the foot of Chamundi Hill here at 6 pm on Dec. 30. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion. The duo will be accompanied by Pt. Ravindra Yavagal on tabla.

Profile: Recipient of coveted Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for creative and experimental music from Sangeet Natak Akademi in 2010, Vid. Anil Srinivasan is now, in association with Rhapsody – Education Through Music, working with schools to teach music to children. He has written extensively on music for several dailies including.

 He was recently awarded the Educator Extraordinaire citation from Rotary International, the Aspen Global Fellowship for Social Change and the Ken Hobbs Citation for Social Responsibility. Currently he is working in KREA University, Hyderabad, as an Assistant Professor.

Born in a family of musicians, Pt. Pravin Godkhindi is a BE graduate who began learning music from his father Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi and later from Vid. Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma. This top grade artiste in AIR is the first Indian to represent Bansuri at the World Flute Festival in Argentina. He has been bestowed with titles such as Sur Mani, Nada Nidhi, Sur Saamrat, Kalaa Praveena and has performed all over the globe with great legends.

Veteran percussionist Pt. Ravindra Yavagal was initiated into music by his father late Ramachandra Yavagal who then continued his training under the tutelage of Veeranna Kamkar and Pt. Sheshagiri Hanagal and is a disciple of the legendary tabla maestro Ustad Ahmed Jan Thirakhwa. 

A top ranking artiste of All India Radio, he is one of the most sought after tabla players of the country today. He is the recipient of various awards including Rajyotsava Award, Nada Nidhi, Kala Chetana, Sangeeta Kala Tapaswi and Tabla Vaadana Vaaridhi.
