MP Sreenivasa Prasad launches BJP’s ‘Booth Vijaya’ Campaign in city

Mysuru: Gearing up for the forthcoming Assembly polls, the BJP on Monday launched  ‘Booth Vijaya’ campaign across the State.

In Mysuru, Chamarajanagar MP V. Sreenivasa Prasad launched the campaign on Monday by tying a party flag at a house located near Raghavendraswamy Temple off Kalidasa Road  coming under Booth No.119 of MCC Ward 19 in Chamaraja Assembly segment in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Sreenivasa Prasad gave a call saying “every BJP worker must fly the party flag atop his/ her house apart from forming Booth Committees in their vicinity.”

Pointing out that there were 58,185 Booths of the party in the State, he said that Booth Committees have a key role in winning polls. Noting that a pary worker must be appointed for observing every page of the electoral rolls, he said that WhatsApp groups must be formed for ensuring better co-ordination between party leaders, workers and voters.

He also suggested that all party workers must together listen to Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ aired on All India Radio (AIR) on last Sunday of every month.

Chamaraja MLA L. Nagendra said ‘Booth Vijaya’ campaign is being held in all the 245 Booths of the constituency. He asked all the party workers to fly the flags atop their house as a symbol of total dedication.

At KR Constituency

KR BJP MLA S.A. Ramdas on Monday launched the 11-day ‘Booth Vijaya’ poll campaign of the party by lighting the lamp at Booth No. 167 coming under MCC Ward 61.

Speaking after the launch, Ramdas said that the campaign will go on till Jan. 12, during which the party flag will be tied at the house of every party worker in order to gear them up ahead of the forthcoming Assembly polls.

Stating that he chose to launch the campaign from Devaraj Urs Colony as the residents there had told in 1993 that they would not allow him to enter the Colony. But thirty years later, the Colony has completely changed for the better after he made a lot of effort, for which he is now wholeheartedly welcomed by the same residents who had stopped him from visiting the Colony.

Highlighting the objectives of the campaign, the MLA said it included setting up of Booth Committees comprising of 12 party workers, formation of Page Pramukhs based on electoral rolls, creation of WhatsApp groups and tying of party flags at a minimum of 25 houses in every Booth.

A target of tying party flags in at least 40,000 houses of the constituency has been set, he said, while appealing the party workers to reach the Centre and State Governments programmes and schemes to every household.

Corporators Shantamma Vadivelu and B.V. Manjunath, leaders Vadivelu, Vidya Urs, Shivaprasad, Chandrashekar, Meenakshi, Uma, Nagarathna, R. Mahadev, R. Mahesh and others were present.

At Chamundeshwari

Booth Vijaya campaign was also launched in Chamundeshwari constituency. BJP flags were hoisted on top of the houses of party workers at Birihundi and Dasanakoppal villages followed by Booth-level meetings.

Speaking at the meeting, former Chamundeshwari BJP President N. Arunkumar Gowda said that with Booth Vijaya campaign, the party will strengthen its base in the constituency and also will emerge victorious both in Chamundeshwari and in the State. He appealed to other office-bearers and party workers to visit every house in the constituency and create awareness about the pro-people governance of the State BJP Government and organise the party.

Present Chamundeshwari BJP President Gejjagalli Mahesh who also spoke on the occasion said that the Booth Vijaya campaign will be held from Jan. 2 to 12 as per the directive of the State Committee in every Booth.

Former District President S.D. Mahendra, senior leader Jagadish Gowda, Convenor Srinivas Hinkal, Joint Convenor Gopalgowda, Gen. Secretaries Pylvan Ravi, Erappa, Somshekar, Krishna Mahadevu and others were present at the meeting.
