Mysuru: Historic Mudukuthore Jathra Mahotsava (Annual Car Festival) will be held from Jan. 31 to Feb. 16.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, who presided over the meeting with the officials at his office here yesterday, instructed to ensure all arrangements were in place for the safety and security of the devotees. The DC said that the Rathotsava will be held on Feb. 7 and Thepotsava on Feb. 10.
“A team of medical doctors with ambulance should be stationed at Mudukuthore during the Jathra Mahotsava and CESC should complete lighting arrangements before the commencement of the Jathra. Temporary toilets, mobile toilets, green rooms among other basic amenities must be provided at the venue and emphasis must be given to maintain cleanliness during the Jathra Mahotsava,” he said and added that Police Department must ensure that arrangement for sound system, installation of loud speakers and CCTV cameras are completed on time.
Reddy also instructed the Department of Kannada and Culture to make all arrangements for cultural programmes during the 17-day Jathra Mahotsava.
“The selection of the best breed of cattle would be held on Feb. 5 for which the farmers should register from Jan. 31 to Feb. 3. Opportunities would not be given for registration on the last two days and on the day of selection,” said Department of Animal Husbandry Assistant Director Dr. Lingaraju.
T. Narasipur Tahsildhar Suresh Achar, Muzrai Tahsildar Vidyut Latha and other officials were present during the meeting.
