Paid Rs. 5 lakh Supari to Mysuru-based killers
Mandya Police, who are investigating the murder case of a Head Master, who was brutally killed by miscreants near Arechakanahalli on Friday morning (Mar. 31), have cracked the case in just 48 hours and have arrested the wife and daughter of Shashibhushan, the Head Master, who was murdered.
Police, led by Dy.SP Matthew Thomas, had taken Shashibhushan’s wife Shanthamma, 39 and his daughter Navyashree,19, into custody, soon after the last rites of Shashibhushan was performed.
During interrogation, Shanthamma and Navyashree confessed of giving Rs. 5 lakh supari to contract killers from Mysuru to murder Shashibhushan. Though the women have been arrested, the Police have launched a hunt for the Mysuru-based supari killers.
The case: It may be recalled that Shashibhushan was working as a Head Master at Bidarahosahalli Government School and used to have frequent quarrels with his wife Shanthamma. Even his daughter Navyashree had married a person she was in love with though there was opposition from her father. Shanthamma was also working as a Head Mistress at Kodiyala Government Primary School in Mandya taluk. It is learnt that due to frequent differences between the couple, they had applied for divorce. Fed up with Shashibhushan’s behaviour, his wife and daughter gave Rs. 5 lakh as supari to kill Shashibhushan.
On Mar. 31 morning, Shashibhushan left for his school on his bike. A gang of miscreants, who were following him in a car, waylaid him near Arechakanahalli and killed him in broad daylight by slitting his throat and fled from the spot.
Meanwhile, the Police who got the information of the murder, called Shashibhushan’s wife Shanthamma and daughter Navyashree over the phone and informed the matter.
Though the Police had informed them about the murder, neither Shanthamma nor Navyashree had come to the spot, which gave rise to doubts among the Police, who began to collect information.
The Police also found out that the women had not only paid the killers but had also provided information regarding Shashibhushan’s daily route and routine with photographs through WhatsApp.
Mandya SP Sudheer Kumar Reddy, speaking at a press meet, informed that it was a family feud which led to the murder and added that they have launched a hunt for the killers.
