Think innovative to enhance aesthetic beauty of city: MLA
Mysuru: MyRealty 2025, a three-day Mega Property Expo organised by Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Mysore Centre in association with the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI) and Mysore Builders’ Charitable Trust (MBCT), at Bharat Scouts and Guides Grounds in city, was inaugurated by KPCC Working President and MLA Tanveer Sait this noon.
The property expo is open to public till May 12 from 10 am to 8.30 pm.
In his address, MLA Tanveer Sait advised the builders to think innovative to enhance the visual look of the city on priority, without restricting themselves to explore their business potential.
“The city of Bengaluru has Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, also a popular landmark, but none thought over building a replica of Lalbagh in Mysuru. Chamundi Hill, a popular tourist destination, is also turning into a concrete hill,” Sait rued.
With Mysuru being one among the fast growing tier-II cities, BAI and CREDAI share a collective responsibility. But the market is mostly driven by middlemen. When it comes to development, most of the other cities of the State are witnessing a stupendous growth, but for Mysuru, observed Sait.
He asked the builders about their plans, if any, to decongest the burden on the heart of the city and the challenges the city may have to encounter, if the nine-metre road is built in the future, suiting the needs of the city as per the Master Plan- 2031.
‘Amidst the discussions on the feasibility of proposed Greater Mysuru City Corporation, we are still mulling over how to handle waste and water in an effective manner,’ said Tanveer Sait.
“Mere developing of layouts alone won’t be of any benefit, but we also have to think about implementing a better vehicle parking system on a public-private-partnership (PPP) mode. Similarly, we have to ponder over creating new landmarks, as the city has nothing to offer other than 100-year old structures to tourists and visitors alike. Except for the construction of three-storey buildings, there is no thinking yet into the engineering mechanisms involved in adding more floors,” said Sait.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr.P. Shivaraju advised the builders to construct apartments and develop layouts, without ignoring the aesthetic beauty of the city, which symbolises the cultural style. By working towards meeting the interests of the society by providing affordable housing facilities to the middle class families too, the builders can offset the burden of the Government, he said.
BAI Chairman V. Srinath said, it has been 17 years since the expo is being organised, focusing on different themes every year.
CREDAI President Harish Shenoy said, more number of builders have enrolled with the association, but participation is important. The ongoing expo is expected to attract more number of people.
The expo features six Platinum Stalls, two Gold Stalls, three Silver Stalls and 17 Regular Stalls, providing a premier platform for renowned builders and developers in Mysuru. The expo has brought together apartment and layout developers, as well as home loan financial institutions, under one roof to showcase their latest projects and financial services.
MyRealty 2025 Chairman K.C. Nandakumar, CREDAI Vice-President L. Ashok Pandit, Hon. Secretary Nagaraj V. Bairy, BAI Secretary C.D. Krishna and MyRealty 2025 Hon. Secretary V. Akshay Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
‘We are with the Indian army…’
‘In the present scenario being witnessed in the country, we are with the Indian defence forces and the military,’ said MLA Tanveer Sait.
He wanted the Mysuru builders to ponder over the crisis in Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) that is under probe by three different investigative agencies, thus affecting the transactions at MUDA.
