Mysuru, Feb.1- The University of Mysore (UoM) has awarded Ph.D in Economics to S.P. Prakruthi for her thesis ‘Social security benefits for women workers in informal sector in Karnataka: A case study of Mysuru District’ submitted under the guidance of Dr. K. Shivachithappa.

M. Sunil Kumar has been awarded Ph.D in Library and Information Science for his thesis ‘Information-seeking behaviour of the students and faculty members of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) institutes in India: A study’ [Guide: Dr. M. Chandrashekara].

Sr. Prafula has been awarded Ph.D in Sociology for her thesis ‘Undergraduate student’s migration for education: A comparative study of students in Mysore and Bangalore’ [Guide: Dr. Rekha K. Jadhav].

Joshi Bhagyashree Kalmeshwar has been awarded Ph.D in Microbiology for her thesis ‘Studies on Microbial Spectra of Diabetic patients and bioactivities of Rotula Aquatica Lour’ [Guide: Dr. N. Lakshmi Devi].

K.N. Sunitha has been awarded Ph.D in Folklore for her thesis ‘Kannada Janapadadalli Huvu’ [Guide: Dr. T. Jayalakshmi (Seethapura)].

H.B. Ramya has been awarded Ph.D in Kannada for her thesis ‘Kannada sahityakke Nagathihalli Chandrashekaravara koduge’ [Guide: Dr. T. Jayalakshmi].

D.T. Siddanna has been awarded Ph.D in History for his thesis ‘Karnatakada Kaadu Gollaru: Ondu itihasika haagu samskritika adhyayana’ [Guide: Dr. G.T. Somashekar].

M.V. Jagadish has been awarded Ph.D in Library and Information Science for his thesis ‘Users and librarians attitude towards theft, mutilation and misplacement of resources in University libraries in Karnataka: A study’ [Guide: Dr. P. Sarasvathy].

N.S. Annapurna has been awarded Ph.D in Kannada for her thesis ‘Kannada Mahila Kadambarigalli Jathi-varga linga vyavasthe nelegalu’ [Guide: Dr. C.P. Siddhashrama].
