Is Mysuru City geared up for No.1 tag?

January 22, 2018

Sir,

MCC claims that it is going to implement waste segregation system strictly but Pourakarmikas do not have any facility to segregate the wastes. They dump the wastes together even if we segregate wet and dry.

MCC issued paper statements several times on levying fine on citizens carrying plastic carry bags. How much fine have they collected so far?

Many citizens’ complaints are being closed without really addressing them. So MCC is bothered only on closing complaints and not really fixing the problem. I had given a complaint on a two-year-old open drainage problem several times in my area. Even recently, I sent RTI request about this, but I did not get any reply from MCC till date.

How many MCC officials go on rounds in the morning? That is the time people dump maximum wastes on streets. Shop-keepers keep the wastes outside their shops at night and by morning, there is a complete mess around these shops as they are scattered by stray animals.

Probably, Mysuru got clean city tag only because all other cities were worst than Mysuru until now. MCC will have to do much more to achieve clean city tag and hope they will take this issue seriously.

MCC has only one phone number for complaints and we have to call several times to register a complaint.
