Mysuru Open Street Festival and Traffic Woes

January 8, 2018

Sir,

We appreciate the efforts of the District Administration, Tourism Department and other sponsors in holding the carnival on D. Devaraja Urs Road as part of Mysuru Winter Festival-2017 on Dec.30.

The Urs Road, which is an arterial road connecting various parts of Mysuru, is not a right place to conduct the festivities.

By evening, a huge crowd had gathered on the street and it was very difficult to either enter or exit Urs Road from all lanes available for that Road by walk.

Therefore, such festivities can be held at Bannimantap Grounds or Dasara Exhibition Grounds next time to facilitate better mob control to this already congested road.
