NCC Unit inaugurated at JSS Academy in city

Mysore/Mysuru: The NCC Unit (Army Wing) of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, was inaugurated at a function held at Sri Gowrishankara Auditorium here recently. The NCC Unit is affiliated to 13 Kar Bn NCC, Vinoba Road, Mysuru.

Col. Rajesh Kumar, Commanding Officer of 13 Kar Bn NCC, who inaugurated the Unit, called upon the cadets to follow the noble values of discipline and unity in their everyday lives and contribute towards Nation-building. He also lauded the efforts of JSS AHER in opening the NCC Wing and providing the students with an opportunity to join NCC. 

Dr. P.A. Kushalappa, Director (Academics), JSS AHER, who was the guest of honour, stated that NCC cadets can develop self-confidence and punctuality through camp and parade training. 

Another guest of honour, Dr. Balasubramanian, Director (Research) & Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, JSS AHER, too addressed the cadets.

Dr. Surinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, JSS AHER, presided. He stated that the aim of NCC is to develop the traits like confidence, courage, discipline, decorum, and winning attitude in the young minds of the cadets, which is to be followed in every walks of life. 

The programme was attended by Rajendra Singh, Subedar Major, Rajesh Kumar, Naik Subedar and Ashok, CHM of 13 Kar Bn NCC. 

The Principals, Vice-Principals, Administrative Officers and Assistant Administrative Officers from constituent Colleges, the Head, Faculty of Life Sciences, and Coordinators of various Departments of JSS AHER were  also present on the occasion.

Dr. H.G. Lingaraju, NCC Caretaker Officer of NCC Unit, JSS AHER, welcomed. Priyanka, NCC cadet, proposed a vote of thanks.
