Mysore/Mysuru: Activist Sathyappa has accused the Government of not disposing off nearly six lakh applications filed by farmers of the State seeking different land records.
Addressing a press meet here on Sunday, Sathyappa said that nearly six lakh farmers have applied to Revenue, Survey and other concerned Departments seeking land records, after making a collective remittance of Rs.75 crore as application fee.
Pointing out that farmers have applied for documents such as 11 E-Map, Tatkal Podi, E-Swathu etc., he said that the applicants were waiting for months to get the documents. Noting that the authorities have to provide the sought documents within 30 days of payment of stipulated fee, he alleged that the Revenue and Survey Departments have failed to provide documents even after two months.
Charging the authorities of being insensitive to the plight of farmers and other applicants, Sathyappa wanted to know whether the Government has penalised errant personnel who have failed to provide the sought documents within the stipulated time.
Accusing the Survey Department of ignoring Government directions, Sathyappa claimed that the Karnataka Government was collecting a much higher fee when compared to neighbouring States, for land measurement under E-Swathu initiative.
He urged the Government to ensure that all the applicants get the sought documents within the stipulated time and thus render justice to farmers and members of the public. Srisai Vanasiri Seva Samithi President Ravi, GP members from Hunsur taluk Kumar and Basavaraju were present at the press meet.
