New RTO (East) building awaits inauguration by CM

The newly-constructed building at Rajiv Nagar 3rd Stage here to house the Regional Transport Office (East) and the office of the Additional Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, is waiting for inauguration and will be opened to public soon.

The building, constructed at a cost of Rs. 8 crore, has two floors spanning 4,300 square meters. The cellar houses a treasury, a parking lot, an electrical maintenance room and a fee remittance centre. The ground floor houses a Driving Licence Centre, ARTO Chamber, Driving Test Centre, Inspectors’ Room, Bio-metric Section, Record Room, Accounts Office and Reception.

The first floor houses RTO Office, rooms for Officers of the Authority, meeting halls and toilets along with the office of the Additional Secretary.

The building is awaiting inauguration by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah once done, the RTO (East) presently housed in a rented building in Shaktinagar would be shifted to the new building.
