May 25, 2025

Mysuru DCF (Territorial), Dr. K.N. Basavaraju, has clarified that the Forest Department has not granted permission to fell trees on 6th Cross, Subhash Nagar. This comes in response to social media reports alleging that MCC had identified 15 trees for removal as part of drainage work in the area and that Forest Dept. had approved the proposal. In an official press statement, Department has categorically denied these claims, asserting that no such approval has been given.
