NOC mandatory for high rise buildings

Following increasing incidents of buildings catching fire, the State Government, as a fire safety measure,  has made it mandatory for high rise structures to get an NOC (No Objection  Certificate) from Karnataka  Fire and Emergency Services Department.

In a Gazette Notification issued recently, the Government said, as per National Building Code Part 4- Fire and Life Safety,  it is mandatory for all structures that stand over 21 metres in height, to obtain an NOC from  Fire and Emergency Services Department, upon payment of fees as per rules. A suitable amendment has been made in this regard to the Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services Act,1964, the Notification said.
