NR Golf Open, Match Play Championships held

Mysuru: NR Group, the agarbathi to aerospace conglomerate, hosted its annual NR Golf Open and Match Play Championships, a State-level event, at Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC) in                   city recently.

NR Golf Open and Match Play Championship-2022 was inaugurated by NR Group Family Member R. Venkatesh.

Prize distribution ceremony was organised at Club House, Mysore Race Club (MRC) on Mar. 27.  NR Group Chairman R. Guru and Partners Arjun Ranga and Pavan Ranga presented the trophies to the winners. 

JWGC President C.S. Ravishankar, JWGC Captain H.S. Arun Kumar, Hon. Treasurer Dr. S.L. Narayan, Tournament Chairman N. Parameshwar, Course Chairman K.S. Sudheer Bhatt, Junior Committee Chairman Keerthy Kumar, Club Chairman V.V. Harish, A. Anantha, A. Prasanna and other members were present.

More than 185 golfers from Mysuru, Bengaluru, Kodagu, Chikamagalur, Ooty and Kodaikanal took part in this two-day event.

Speaking at the prize distribution ceremony, Arjun Ranga said, “We at NR Group believe in supporting the young talents in the field of sports be it Cricket, Kabbadi, Tennis or Golf. The NR Golf Championship is one such initiative by the organisation to provide a platform for the golfers and encourage the game of Golf. Each year’s success has given us tremendous response and we have recognised various talents.”

C.S. Ravishankar expressed his gratitude to NR Group for supporting the game of golf through sponsorship and by organising such tournaments.

Stableford Gross:  V. Prakash (29 Gross – winner);  Ramesh Kumar Jain (29 Gross – runner).

Strokeplay Net – H/C 0 to 12: Deepak Kumar Jain (68 Net – winner); Arjun M. Ranga (70 Net – runner.)

Strokeplay Net – H/C 13 to 18: D.V. Sridhar (64 Net – winner);  S. Pradyoth (65 Net – runner).
