Sir,
The heritage structure of the Old Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office now stands eerily silent. Once alive with activity, where vehicles jostled for parking and uniformed personnel kept vigil, the compound is today a deserted expanse echoing with barks instead of bureaucratic bustle. Where security forces once stood guard, a pack of stray dogs now roams freely.
The iconic structure, once central to administrative life, has effectively become a canine sanctuary. The Government’s decision to convert the historic building into a museum was welcomed by many. However, that vision appears to be stuck in limbo, with no visible progress on the ground.
In the meantime, the growing stray dog population has become a cause for concern. Morning walkers and bikers passing through the area now find themselves under threat from these aggressive dogs, turning a heritage spot into a source of daily anxiety. As the dogs continue to take over and the museum plan gathers dust, Mysureans are left wondering: When will this affliction end?
