Mysore/Mysuru: An online Horticulture Fair (Totagarike Mela) 2020-2021 will jointly be organised by University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot and College of Horticulture in Mysuru from Jan. 2 (tomorrow) to Jan. 4.
The theme of the Mela will be Horticulture for Health and this theme gains prominence as the year 2021 has been declared as the International Fruits and Vegetable Year. The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), has launched the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables 2021 (IYFV) with an appeal to improve healthy and sustainable food production through innovation and technology and to reduce food loss and waste. Due to prevailing contagion atmosphere, the Horticulture Fair will be held both through online and offline and limited number of farmers and horticulturists would be invited for the Mela. Guests can visit the Mela to know about the latest technology in horticulture.
