Mysuru:  “It is a service to music to provide opportunity to children to showcase their talents on the stage in their early age,” opined Rtn. PHF P.M. Nanaiah, President, Rotary West, Mysuru, speaking as chief guest at the inaugural function of a day-long classical music performance by children and youth in connection with Children’s Day celebrations organised by Sri Tyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, in association with Rotary West and the Department of Kannada and Culture, at the Rotary West auditorium in Saraswathipuram recently.

Well-known art patron and President of the Sabha, K.V. Murthy presided over the function.

Senior musician and Hon. Secretary of the Sabha, Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy felicitated the guests.

Sri Tyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha has been organising this event every year for more than 25 years with the aim of providing a platform to the students of all the classical music teachers of the city. Rotary West is extending its support for the cause since several years.

This year, more than 100 students performed on the stage in vocal, flute, violin and mridanga and enthralled the audience.

The support on violin and mridanga was also provided by students only.
