Ordeal of losing a wallet

February 9, 2021

Sir,

I am a resident of #3, Kalidasa Road, Mysuru. On 2.2.2021, a personnel from a Bank called me and informed about the availability of Tollfree number “OneAssist” to assist in case of loss of Wallet containing Debit / Credit cards. In such an exigency inform the Tollfree number and the Bank will immediately block all the Cards and also arrange to replace them.

Further he informed that if I give my consent an amount of Rs. 1,699 will be deducted from the account to extend the facility. I did not give my consent and avail the facility on that day.

Incidentally, I lost my wallet on 3.2.2021 probably while getting down from the car somewhere near Open Air Theatre or Kalidasa Road around 2 pm. I noticed the missing wallet at 5 pm, while going out from the house. I repented for not having availed the OneAssist facility.

Meanwhile I was worried, upset and searching all the possible places. Around 6.50 pm, SBI Shivarampet Branch Accountant, Chandan, called me and informed me that the lost wallet is handed over by one of the Bank customers Nagaraj and can be collected by producing my identity proof during working hours the next day.

I collected the wallet on 4.2.2021. I thank Good Samaritans like Chandan of SBI and Nagaraj, SBI customer and retired employee of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited, Mysuru, for avoiding all the hardship that I would have undergone otherwise. Now I have decided to avail the OneAssist facility of the Bank.
