Patriotic cultural events mark I-Day

Kautilya Vidyalaya, Dattagalli 3rd Stage

Major D. Satheesha (Commissioned Officer of the Indian Army) was the chief guest and hoisted the flag. Chairman T. Babu, Principal V.R. Shashikala, students, parents, teachers, management and guests attended the flag hoisting and paid homage to the great leaders of the nation. The awardees of Wipro Earthen 2022 were honoured  and the Heritage Club and Tourism Club were inaugurated by the chief guest.

Students from all grades and PU came together to put up a diverse cultural programme which included English, Hindi and Kannada speeches, patriotic songs, patriotic and classical dance, a yoga display, fancy dress on a patriotic theme and a patriotic dance-drama.

Mysore Beauticians Welfare Association

The Members of Mysore Beauticians Welfare Association celebrated the Independence Day in a meaningful manner. The Flag was hoisted by Corporator Shobha Mohan. On this occasion, Geetha Manjunath, a National-level handicapped Throwball player, who is the only person from Karnataka to represent the National Team played in Malaysia and won, was honoured, according to K. Vedavathi N. Rai, Association President.

Dr. Zakir Hussain Circle

Independence Day was celebrated at the Circle, previously known as Mission Hospital Circle. ABS  Syed Umar, ABS Syed Abbas, Bannur Kumar, Noor Mohamed Merchant, Fayaz Ahmed, Sana Ulla and others were present when the Tricolour was unfurled. National Anthem was sung by all the people present.

JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road

Prof. H.M. Rajashekar, Retired Professor of Political Science, University of Mysore,  addressing the gathering said that India is not only the largest democratic country but also the strongest democratic country in the world.

He felt that the great leaders of the Indian Subcontinent  and its Constitution had built strong democratic foundations, thus making India a great country.

Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College hoisted the National Flag.

Dr. S. Prathibha, Principal of Degree College, welcomed. Prof. S. Somashekar, Principal, PU College, proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Vinay Kumar, NCC Officer of the College and Convener of National Festivals Committee, compered. M.C. Rekhashree of  III B.Sc rendered the invocation.

St. Arnold’s Central School, Sathagalli Layout, Mysuru

Niral Joyson Vaz was the chief guest and Dr. Joyline Germine D’sa was the guest of honour. Principal Fr. Jossie Fernandes, School Management, staff, students and parents were present during the celebrations.

Garden Tennis Club, Nazarbad

Independence Day was celebrated at Garden Tennis Club in Nazarbad with Club President N. Dhruvaraj hoisting the National Flag. Club Secretary M.N. Nandeesh, Vice-President L.P. Madhukar, former President Dr. K.L. Puttabuddhi and others were present.

Al-Kabir English Higher Primary and High School, S.S. Nagar, Bannimantap

Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp. Flag hoisting was done by Secretary Reshma Samiulla in the presence of chief guest Pushpalatha Jagannath, guest of honour Corporator Akmal Pasha, school teachers, non-teaching staff and students.

Stanakwasi Yuva Sanghatana

Stanakwasi Yuva Sanghatana celebrated I-Day at its adopted Geetha Mandir School. Past President of Yuva Sanghatana Rajan Baghmar and Manohar Sankala hoisted the Flag. Bharath Patwa, Sunil Patwa and Gautham Patwa were among those present.

Farooqia PU College, Tilaknagar

Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour in the premises of the College. R.H. Basha, Principal of the College, hoisted the Tricolour. Huda Fathima, Nida Fathima and Sufiya Fathima, students of I PUC, sang patriotic songs.
