Mysuru: Sri Krishna Ganasabha, Mysuru, has organised a memorial dance programme by Vidu. Pooja Sugam and K.M. Samiksha tomorrow (June 14) at 6.30 pm at Alwar Kala Bhavan in Gokulam 3rd Stage. The programme is sponsored by Dr. C.G. Narasimhan and family.
K.M. Samiksha: Born in Hassan, Samiksha is a reputed artiste with fineness in Music and Dance genres of Classical Art. A B.E. graduate from VTU, Belagavi, she holds a Master’s in Bharathanatyam from Music University, Mysuru. Initiated into Classical Dance under Guru Ambala Rajeshwari, she honed her skills under Vijayakumar of Chennai.
After initial training in flute by flautist Vid. A.V. Prakash, she continues to learn from Vid. A. P. Krishnaprasad. She receives training in Nattuvangam from veteran mridangist Vid. Nagai P. Sriram (Chennai).
Pooja Sugam: A multifaceted talent of immaculate elegance, bestowed with the knowledge of Music and Dance, Pooja has deep roots in Classical Dance as her mother, an exponent of Bharathanatyam, Dr. Kripa Phadke nurtured her with the fineness of the art form. She is trained by illustrious dancer Vijayakumar from Chennai in Bharathanatyam and renowned percussionist Vid. Nagai P. Sriram in Nattuvangam. She has Master’s degrees in both Music and Dance from University of Mysore and Music University in Mysuru respectively.
