Poor families in Bogadi pay for drinking water

September 28, 2025

Sir,

There are many low-income and poor families living in extremely small rental tenements around the Bogadi area.

I was shocked to learn that the owners of these tenements have not provided direct water connections to their tenants, even though they themselves enjoy proper water connections.

As a result, these poor families are forced to pay money to buy drinking water. The water stored in their old and unclean overhead tanks, which haven’t been cleaned for ages, is unfit for cooking or drinking, leaving them with no choice but to spend extra on safe water.

Is it not the duty of the house owners to ensure basic amenities like direct water connections for their tenants?

I sincerely hope the Town (Pattana) Panchayat takes note of this serious issue and comes forward to help these                      hapless families.
